O-ring sealing is a rubber seal with a circular cross-section. Because its cross-section is O-shaped, it is called an O-ring. It first appeared in the mid-19th century, when it was used as a sealing element for steam engine cylinders. Do you know what materials the seals are made of?
Natural Rubber is made from rubber tree latex and is a polymer of isoprene. It has good abrasion resistance, high elasticity, breaking strength and elongation. It is easy to age in the air, become sticky when heated, easily expand and dissolve in mineral oil or gasoline, and is resistant to alkali but not strong acid. It is the raw material for making tapes, hoses, and rubber shoes, and is suitable for making shock-absorbing parts and products used in hydroxide-containing liquids such as automobile brake fluid and ethanol.
Butyrene (Styrene Butadiene Copolyme) is a copolymer of butadiene and styrene. Compared with natural rubber, it has uniform quality and less foreign matter, but its mechanical strength is weaker. It can be blended with natural rubber.
It uses low-cost non-oil-resistant materials, has good water resistance, good elasticity below 70; it has poor compression at high hardness, and can use most neutral chemicals and dry, nourishing organic Ketones; but strong acids, ozone, oils, oil esters and fats and most hydrocarbons are not recommended.
Butyl rubber (Butyl Rubber) is made by polymerizing isobutylene with a small amount of isoprenes. It retains a small amount of unsaturated groups for sulfurization. Because the steric molecules of methyl groups have less movement than other polymers, they are suitable for most general gas Impermeability, good resistance to sunlight and ozone; it is often used to make rubber parts that are resistant to chemicals and vacuum equipment. We do not recommend simultaneous use with petroleum solvents, kerosene and aromatic hydrogen.
Hydrogenate Nitrile (Hydrogenate Nitrile) is a nitrile rubber that is partially hydrogenated after hydrogenation. After hydrogenation, its temperature resistance and weather resistance are much higher than those of ordinary nitrile rubber, and its oil resistance is similar to that of ordinary nitrile rubber. The general use temperature range is -25 ~ 150 ℃.
Nitrile rubber has better abrasion resistance, excellent corrosion and tensile properties, and good resistance to ozone, sunlight and other atmospheric conditions. Generally suitable for washing or dishwashing detergents.
The main chain of silicone rubber is made of silicon. It has excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, ozone resistance, and atmospheric aging resistance. It has good electrical insulation, compressibility, and resistance. The tensile strength is worse than that of ordinary rubber and it does not have oil resistance.
Fluorinated silicone rubber is a silicone rubber that has been fluorinated. Its general properties have the advantages of fluorine rubber and silicone rubber. Its oil resistance, solvent resistance, fuel oil resistance, and high and low temperature resistance are all good. The general use temperature is -50 to 200 ℃.
